UrbanNest Home, a rapidly growing home goods retailer, faced increasing pressure to reduce its environmental
impact, particularly in the last-mile delivery phase of its operations. To meet sustainability goals and improve
operational efficiency, the company overhauled its delivery infrastructure with a suite of eco-conscious innovations.
The first major step was transitioning from traditional fuel-based delivery vans to a fleet of electric
vehicles (EVs), significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering noise pollution
in residential areas. To support the transition, UrbanNest installed EV charging stations at regional fulfillment
centers, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
UrbanNest also introduced freight consolidation practices, grouping orders by geographic zones and
delivery windows. This reduced the number of trips per day and maximized each vehicle’s capacity.
